The Greene County High School track and field squads go to Woodward for the Woodward-Granger Invitational today. Entering this week the Rams had several events that ranked high in Class 3A including sophomore high jumper Megan Durbin, who will be competing on Thursday, April 28 at the Drake Relays inside Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Durbin is tied for the highest jump in 3A and the highest overall among Iowa high school girls at 5′ 5″.

Junior discus thrower Kenna Marquardt entered this week with the 14th best throw in 3A, while the sprint medley relay was 17th in 3A with freshman Melanie Doran, sophomore Laurin Lyons, Durbin, and junior Olivia Hansen.

On the boys’ side, senior Max Neese ranks third in 3A in the 200 meter dash and 10th in the 100. Senior Daric Whipple ranks fourth in the 400 meter low hurdles, while senior shot putter Matthew Gordon is 13th. The 4 x 400 meter relay is 22nd in the class with Neese, Whipple, senior Ethan Woodruff, and junior Nick Schroeder.
