Perry High School has once again made the US News and World Report’s list of Bronze Medal Schools.
Principal Dan Marburger says they’re very pleased to have this happen for the second consecutive year and the fourth time overall.
Schools that receive a medal are listed in the top 30 percent of high schools in the nation. Marburger says it’s a great honor for students, the community and very hardworking staff.
“We are pleased that our hard work in helping to raise productive citizens of character was recognized by a national publication based upon test scores and our ability to have students grow despite challenges such as poverty and English being the second language of many students.”
Marburger says the district is proud of their students and the community should be proud of the district and the education local students receive in Perry.
The principal adds that the high school would like to thank the community, school board, district administration and all of the support staff members “like bus drivers who get our kids here safely, our cooks who keep our students well fed, our para-educators who help our students daily and our building and grounds people who give us clean and safe buildings to do our job.”
Marburger says this is a community honor and he’s pleased to share it with everyone.
