The Dexter Museum opens for the season Sunday.
Volunteer Rod Stanley says there are three new exhibits this year, including one about the tragic story of the Dexter-native Wilson brothers. “Those are the five brothers that served in World War II and three of them were killed in the war. That’s of course a very tragic thing, a family losing three sons and brothers. We do have a number of things given to us by Joy Neal Kidney and we’ve made an exhibit out of that. We hope people will find that pretty interesting and it does have a Dexter connection.”
The other two exhibits are about the filming of scenes in Dexter for the 1968 film “Fever Heat”, and the City’s location on the historically significant Rock Island Railroad.
The museum is open Sundays from 1-3 p.m. through October.
