The Greene County High School girls’ golf team finished second on Tuesday in a golf triangular at the Ames Golf & Country Club. Gilbert won the event with 196 strokes for nine holes with the Rams next at a season low 203. Roland-Story was third at 220.

Gilbert’s Katie Jenkins was medalist at 41 with Ram sophomore Rachel Danielson runner-up at 46. The other three scores that counted in the Rams’ team total were a career low 49 from senior Alison Gallagher, 51 by senior Katelyn Hagen, and 57 for senior Nicole Rohner.

This was the first time most of the Greene County girls had played the Ames course. A four-meet week continues tomorrow for Coach Heath Telleen’s team. The Rams host Carlisle on Thursday at The Hill west of Grand Junction, then the girls go to Dayton on Friday for the Southeast Valley tournament.
