The Greene County girls’ golf team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 237-240 victory over St. Edmond on Monday in a steady rain north of Ft. Dodge at the Lakeside Golf Course. Coach Heath Telleen told Raccoon Valley Radio “The girls played the difficult back nine at Lakeside. Steady rain made the course even more challenging. We are happy to move to 4-1 on the season. There were some big scores on a few holes that made our scores higher than we had hoped, but it was a good learning opportunity for us.”
Sophomore Rachel Danielson of the Rams was medalist for nine holes at 54, winning on a tie-breaker with Riley Mayer of St. Edmond, who also shot 54. The other three scores for Greene County were 55 from Katelyn Hagen, 62 by Nicole Rohner, and 66 from Alison Gallagher. All three are seniors.
The Rams meet Roland-Story (Story City) and Gilbert today at the Ames Golf & Country Club.
