Both the boys and girls soccer teams enjoyed wins to start their week last night.
The Lady Tigers held down the fort at Island Park very well as they walked away with a close 1-0 win against Norwalk. The lone goal for the game came off a penalty kick as Allie Cook found the back of the net. It was another stellar defensive night as well with Jessica Craigmile’s second shut out and fifth save of the season already and great defensive play from Sydney Bertman, Izzy LaFollette, and Carmen Angel. The 12th ranked ADM/Van Meter soccer team is now 3-0 on the season as they head into their 3rd of 7 straight home game this Friday night against Glenwood. That game will be one of the opening matches for the varsity soccer tournament this weekend.
The ADM boys soccer team pulled together and earned a victory in overtime last night. The Tigers found themselves down 2-1 heading into half time but managed to even the score with just five minutes left in regulation. Noah Bardwell found the back of the net on a very well placed penalty kick that went around the defensive wall for the score. The Tigers made the most of the overtime action as Bardwell once again found the back of the net on a penalty kick which would end up sealing the deal for ADM. The Tigers now improve to 8-1 on the season as they remain road warriors this Thursday when they travel to Ballard to take on the Bombers. That game is scheduled to commence at 7:00 pm.
