Today ADM athletics will hit the ground running both figuratively and literally thanks to 4 athletic events taking place.
After earning a first place and second place finish in their previous two respective meets, the ADM boys golf team is looking to continue the winning streak as they take on Webster City this afternoon. The Tigers will be looking for another top performance from Jacob Schumacher who has placed first in each of the prior two meets. The Tigers will square off against the Lynx at Briggs Wood Golf Club starting at 4:00 this afternoon.
With just four days remaining until the qualification deadline for the Drake Relays, it becomes even more important for the ADM girls track team to have another set of strong performances when they run in the Green County Coed Ram Relays tonight. The Lady Tigers will be matched up with the hometown Rams along with fellow Raccoon River Conference teams Boon and Perry. The rest of the field will be comprised of Carroll, East Sac County, and Kuemper Catholic. Seniors Maggi Bjustrom and Brianna Mueller among other Lady Tigers will look to solidify their spots at the Drake Relays with strong performances tonight. Bjustrom tops all of class 3A in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.25 while Mueller sits at 5th in the best 1500 meter run time with 4:56.52. The meet at Linduska Field tonight will commence at 5:00 pm.
After earning upgrades within their respective class rankings, both the girls and boys soccer teams will also be in action tonight. The 6th ranked boys soccer team will face a rematch with Des Moines East high school as they travel to the James Cownie Soccer Complex. The Tigers will be eyeing their 8th win on the season as they take on the Scarlets tonight starting at 4:45 pm. On the girls side, ADM/Van Meter will hold down the fort at Island Park as they take on Norwalk. Through 2 games the Lady Tigers have allowed just one goal while scoring 14. That game tonight will commence at 7:00 pm.
