Greene County Supervisors to Meet Tomorrow Morning
The Greene County Board of Supervisors will meet tomorrow morning.
The Board will consider for approval the treasurer’s investment and driver’s license report for March, appointing Billie Jo Hoskins as authorized signatory for county substance abuse grant documents, the second half of the 2016 fiscal year budget fund transfer resolutions from rural to secondary roads, an agreement with the Department of Transportation for the initial detour to replace the overpass bridge in Grand Junction next year and a preconstruction agreement with the DOT for a primary road project.
The Board is also expected to approve a bid following a hearing for the sale of a property in Rippey. The Board will also review the master matrix scoring for a project in Hardin Township, as well as setting the public hearing. Plus, the Board will hear information from Conservation Director Dan Towers on the Southern Prairie Pothole project.
It begins at 8:30am in the boardroom of the courthouse in Jefferson.
Plans are Coming Together for this Year’s Bell Tower Festival
Another Bell Tower Festival planning meeting is scheduled for tomorrow.
Greene County Chamber Tourism and Events Coordinator Angie Pedersen says the meeting will be at 4pm at the Chamber office in Jefferson. She adds that the bulk of the work is already done, but there’s still some work left to be done.
We previously reported that a new band has been added to this year’s opening ceremonies, and Pedersen says the same band will also play Friday night of the festival in the beverage garden.
“The Riverias is playing, they’re a 1950’s and ‘60’s rock band. Friday night they’re going to be playing before opening ceremonies, so that’ll be at the (Bell Tower) plaza stage. But then they’re going to pack up, move down the street, and set up in the beer tent and play from 8pm to midnight. So if you don’t want to catch them in the beer tent, you can catch them uptown, after you’ve had lunch at the barbecue (meal).”
Pedersen notes that the barbecue meal and carnival ride tickets will be available soon for pre-sale, along with this year’s t-shirts.
Planning meetings will be every two weeks leading up to the festival on June 10th and 11th.
