The weekend has seemed to come a little early for ADM athletics after many great performances yesterday.

It was the ADM boys golf team that got things started off as they hit the road to partake in the 5 team Woodward-Granger tournament. The Tigers clashed with the home town Hawks, Madrid, Perry, and Ballard. The Tigers finished strong on the afternoon earning a second place finish after shooting 316 as a team just 7 shots behind first place Ballard. Another strong performance by Jacob Schumacher earned himself the top spot on the medalist stand after shooting 72 on the tournament. Fellow ADM Tiger Micah Moyer was right behind Schumacher with an 18 hole score of 73.

The Lady Tiger golf team also took home the victory after defeating Dallas Center-Grimes at River Valley Golf course. Tina Telford along with Nicole Bever were top medalists on the afternoon while fellow Lady Tiger Lindsey Lange was a runner up.

The Lady Tiger track team strung together yet another top performance with their third place team finish in Waukee yesterday. ADM was part of an 11 team field with the lady Toreadors of Boon the only other Raccoon River Conference team in participation. ADM earned 67 points as a team on the afternoon thanks to three top 5 relay performances and three top three finishers. Returning state qualifier Brianna Mueller led the way taking first in the 1500 meter run with a finishing time of 4:56.52. Freshmen Sadie Juergens ran hard for a third place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:31.36. Maggi Bjustrom narrowly missed out on the top spot in the 100 meter hurdles by just three tenths of a second; finishing with a time of 15.25. Yet another top performance from Bjustrom puts her in the drivers seat to participate in the Drake Relays. Bjustrom is currently 2nd in the class 3A 100 meter hurdle times.
