The Jefferson Library is offering several technology classes to help individuals better access their devices and utilize resources from the library.
Library Director Jane Millard says anyone needing help with their tablet, laptop computer or smart phone is encouraged to attend one of their Tech Help classes. It will be offered on Monday, April 18th from 6 to 8pm, April 22nd from 2 to 4pm and May 7th from 9:30 to 11:30am.
Another set of classes will help those navigate the library’s digitized newspaper archive program. Millard points out that more and more people are using their website to search and read newspaper articles as far back as 1866.
“The response has been so positive on this. We are so glad to have worked with a lot of community organizations that sponsored that digitization of the Jefferson newspapers. We have usage statistics from people using it all over the world and that’s really exciting for us.”
There are two classes that are offered. One is on Thursday, April 28th from 9 to 11am and the other will be on Thursday, May 5th from 6 to 8pm.
Finally, people can download free ebooks unto their eReader by using the electronic library. The Bridges program is offered on April 30th from 9:30 to 11:30am and May 3rd from 6 to 8pm. Class sizes for each program is limited and pre-registration is required.
