2016 Greene County Relay for Life logo pic 2With the 20th Annual Greene County Relay for Life coming up next week, there are a few reminders for participants and the public.

All team captains are reminded to drop off their team’s fundraising money to any Peoples Trust and Savings Bank locations. Another reminder is that there will not be a “Banking Night” this year.

The silent auction committee is still accepting donated items for their fundraising event. Several items have already been donated, but you can still drop off any goods or products, along with certificate of services, handmade and one-of-a-kind items at Home State Bank before the event on April 23rd. For more information, contact co-chair Rhonda Morlan at 386-2131.

Donations for the luminarias are also being accepted. New this year is the caregiver luminaria in honor of those who give special support and care to those battling cancer. Donations for a luminaria in memory of a loved one or someone who is battling cancer is $10 and the caregiver luminaria is $5. Contact Shirley Stapleton for more information at 386-2804.

Event Organizer Peg Raney says any information about this year’s fundraising efforts is on their website.

“All the information on the schedules, registrations for the (Color Out Cancer) 5K run, all of that is on our website. Pictures from last year, ways for people to sign up for teams or make donations to teams too.”

The main event will be on Saturday, April 23rd at the Greene County Community Center from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
