Tuesday, April 12th

A deputy spoke to a Churdan area resident about a red pickup truck with no plates driving around the Paton-Churdan School and transporting children.

A deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction to talk with the driver of a reported vehicle that was driving erratic and careless through town.

Two deputies located and stopped a 4 wheel ATV, that was operating at a high rate of speed within the city limits of Grand Junction. The juvenile driver was issued citations for No Valid Driver’s License, Careless Driving and Failure to Obey a Stop Sign. The ATV was impounded by the deputies.

A deputy assisted a DHS caseworker with an out of control juvenile male in the 600 block of South 15th Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy, Greene County EMS and Jefferson Fire Units were all dispatched to a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near J Avenue. A 2014 Chevrolet Camaro being driven by Catlin Jeffrey Laffoon 27, of Ames, was eastbound on 220th Street when a deer ran onto the roadway and was struck by his vehicle. Catlin Jeffrey Laffoon was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for further evaluation of minor injuries. The Chevrolet Camaro was reported to have sustained major damage. Laffoon was wearing his seatbelt and the airbags did deploy.

Wednesday, April 13th

A deputy was dispatched to the 1500 block of W Avenue for cattle along the roadway. The deputy and the owner soon had the cattle back into the feed lot.

A Jefferson Police Officer assisted the Sheriff’s Office with a disabled vehicle that was along the roadway on Highway 30 near Hillcrest Avenue. The officer gave the two passengers a ride to Jefferson.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
