All Greene County teens in sixth through twelfth grades are invited to a free movie on Friday.
Jefferson Library Director Jane Millard says the Greene County Library Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors are sponsoring the premiere of “Allegiant”. It is the finale of three movies made from the book series “Divergent” by Veronica Roth. Millard points out that they’ve shown the other two movies in previous years, but they are excited to generate reading from hosting events like this.
“It really is exciting that we’re able to encourage reading through books that have been made into movies. It’s exciting for us to see the teens all gathered together with their friends, watching a movie that was based on a book. We always have a drawing in each library and one teen in each library will receive a copy of that book.”
Space limited to the first 200 teens that pre-register at their respective county library for free admission to the movie at 4pm on Friday at the Sierra Community Theatre. Plus, each recipient will get a $2 off coupon at the concession stand. Parents or siblings can also attend, but will have to pay regular admission.
