Greene County sophomore Rachel Danielson continued her hot start to the high school golf season with a 41 for nine holes and the Rams defeated Ballard Tuesday at the  par 35 Huxley Country Club 206-231.

Ram coach Heath Telleen said, “The girls played their best golf of the season so far. They shot an impressive 206, beating their previous best by nine strokes. Rachel Danielson shot an outstanding 41 for meet medalist honors, and for a personal record. Katelyn Hagen was the runner-up with a 50 and a new personal low. The girls have great potential to continue to improve and I think better scores are out there for us to achieve.” Danielson’s score is the lowest shot by a female in the four years of Greene County High School, and it’s one of the lower totals for a girl from a Jefferson based program dating back to the program’s infancy in the early 1960’s.

Ballard was led by Madison Knutson and Abby Vincent, both at 54.

Greene County girls at Huxley vs. Ballard 4-12-16:

Rachel Danielson 41, Katelyn Hagen 50, Nicole Rohner 55, Alison Gallagher 60.
