As we’ve reported, Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation (GGCGC) gave away over $900,000, or five percent of Wild Rose Casino’s adjusted gross revenue, during a ceremony in Jefferson Monday night.

Guthrie County, as well as five other counties contiguous to Greene County received $18,200 during the ceremony. Guthrie County Community Foundation President Laura Imerman and Secretary Julie Kipp were present to receive the funds, which will be used to complete numerous conservation projects, including the paving of three Raccoon River Valley Trail crossings and to support Tori’s Angels, a local agency that financially assists the families of terminally ill children.

Guthrie County will receive funds annually from GGCGC and the figure is expected to grow next year, because this year’s funds were accumulated from the casino being only open for less than six months in 2015.
