The four person Paton-Churdan girls track & field team scored 33 points on Monday in Gowrie and placed seventh among eight Class B teams at the Richard Ryan Relays hosted by Southeast Valley. Freshman Megan Carey paced the Rockets by winning twice and accounting for P-C’s only two first place finishes. The ninth grader won the long jump at 15″ 3-1/2″ and placed first in the 400 meter dash in 1:04.00. Senior Carleigh Paup was fourth in the long jump, at 15′ 1/4″ in a very tight competition. The top relay finish for the Rockets was third in the sprint medley relay in 2:06.92 with Jenna Beyers and Grace Geisler on the 100 meter legs, Paup running the 200, and Carey on the 400 meter anchor.
South Central Calhoun won Class B with 136 points, followed by Eagle Grove 104, Ft. Dodge St. Edmond 88, Manson-Northwest Webster 87, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire 63, West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley 51, Paton-Churdan 33, and 11 for the Southeast Valley JV.
