The Greene County High School girls’ golf team opened the season at the Carroll Municipal Golf Course vs. Carroll High on Monday. The Rams shot three strokes under their 2015 season best, but they came up short vs. the Tigers, 204-215. Ram sophomore Rachel Danielson shot a career best 43, which was good for meet medalist honors. Alison Gallagher and Katelyn Hagen both shot 56, and Nicole Rohner shot 60. Gallagher’s score was a personal best.
Greene County coach Heath Telleen said, “The girls really played well today. Even though we came up short of Carroll’s score, it was a great way to start the season.”
Sara Sweeney led Carroll at 46 and Summer Sinnard was a shot back at 47.
The Rams are scheduled to host Gilbert today at The Hill west of Grand Junction.
