One person was transported to the hospital for treatment after escaping a house fire Saturday.
According to the Perry Police Department, Max Steffen called in around 12:35pm saying his home in the 390th block of 335th Street was fully in flames. Steffen also said that his ankles hurt from jumping off roof 15 feet in the air to escape the blaze.
Everyone in the home was able to get out in time and find a common meeting place a safe distance from the fire.
Several area agencies responded to assist with extinguishing the fire, which is believed to be a total loss. The cause is unknown at this time.
