The ADM girls track team not only started their 2016 outdoor season this week, but they did so in a hurry. The Lady Tigers participated in two meets within the past five days; the first meet taking place at Earlham on Monday and the second meet taking place at Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers followed up a great performance at Earlham with another solid performance at DC-G on Thursday. When the dust settled ADM had four first place finishers with two relay teams earning first place finishes as well.

Returning state qualifiers Maggi Bjustrom and Sydney Bertman continued their strong seasons and led the way for the Lady Tigers. Bjustrom notched almost a full second faster than 2nd place Maci Masching of DC-G, earning her the top spot with a time of 16.06 in the 100 meter hurdles. Bertman also put up another stellar performance as she too took first, landing the top spot in the long jump with a distance of 15-04.50.

Olivia Anderson took home first place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:07 while Emma Riker took first in the 800 meter run with a finishing time of 2:35.99 to round out the four individual first place winners.

ADM’s 4 x 400 meter relay team of Brianna Mueller, Kylie Hauf, Sadie Juergens, and Olivia Anderson took first place as they finished with a time of 4:23.27. ADM’s 400 meter shuddle hurdle relay team of Sami Schepers, Maggi Bjustrom, Kylie Hauf, and Alexis Stine also took home first prize as they notched a finishing time of 1:12.65.
