The Greene County Sheriff’s office arrested a wanted Jefferson man Thursday.
Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says 42 year-old John Matthew Goff was arrested at 4:24pm at Scranton Manufacturing. The Sheriff’s office knew that he used to work there and he was there when deputies went there looking for him. He was booked and remains in the Greene County Jail.
We previously reported that John and his wife, 45 year-old Stephanie Arvella Goff, were each charged with two counts of Class D Felonies for burglary, Class D Felony for third or subsequent possession of meth and misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and theft.
The charges stem from two investigations when the couple allegedly broke into two vacant homes and stole a flat screen television from one of the homes and an executed search warrant of the couple’s home in the 400 block of State Street that resulted in recovering the suspected drugs.
Stephanie was arrested just after midnight on Wednesday and was booked and released from the Greene County Jail.
