As we’ve reported, students and staff at area schools will participate in a statewide tornado drill Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
Guthrie Center Superintendent Steve Smith says during any sort of emergency at school, it is vital for teachers to keep track of students. “There might be a student who went to the restroom or another classroom to do something. Teachers are instructed to make sure that they’re accountable for students that are supposed to be in their room, and if they are not we need to know exactly where they are.”
Smith will tell us more about the district’s emergency preparedness plan today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
