The Churdan Public Library took another step toward their expansion project with a recent donation.

America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund and directed by an anonymous Greene County area farmer, donated $2,500. The money will help the library’s plans to expand their current facility by 1,000-feet and includes upgrades to the building to be Americans with Disabilities Act compliant, as well as additional programming and more electronics. The project started in December of 2013 with a goal of raising $250,000. The $2,500 donation puts the library’s funds around $75,000.

The anonymous donor says the library’s expansion would help the entire community and residents of all ages.

America’s Farmers Grow Communities partners with farmers to support local nonprofit causes that positively impact farming communities across rural America. Grow Communities is one program in the America’s Farmers community outreach effort, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.

Last year, a Rippey farmer donated $2,500 to the Friends of Rippey to continue to make overall improvements to the City of Rippey.
