A special family program will be offered by Greene County Extension later this week.
The Strengthening Families Program is designed to give families of fifth and sixth graders needed techniques to build on the strengths they already have and improve on other areas they may need help with. Topics to be covered include life skills in youth, conflict resolution, effective parenting styles and promoting positive family communication in interactive and fun ways.
The seven-week course will be on Sundays starting this week through April 17th. There will not be a meeting on Easter Sunday. A meal will be served at 5pm with each session to start at 5:30pm. There will also be three drawings for $100 gift cards at the first meeting on Sunday. Each session will be at the St. Joseph’s Parish Center in Jefferson.
To register for the program, call Extension Families Coordinator Sue Richardson at the Extension office at 386-2138 or email her at srichard@iastate.edu.
