A new math concept, known as Number Talks, has led to much success among Panorama elementary students.

Instructional coach Patty Meinecke says the concept allows students to engage in mathematical discussions in which meaningful learning and deep understanding is taking place.

She adds that the skills being taught match up well with the new statewide assessment.
