The Perry high school boys’ basketball team is headed to the state tournament for the first time in nearly three decades.

The Bluejays won the sub state final game in Atlantic Monday, beating Glenwood in overtime with a score of 73 to 71.  It’s the first time the team has qualified for state since 1988.

They will now play next Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
