The 10 wins the 2015-16 Greene County boys’ basketball team put on the board are the most in the four seasons the Rams have been Greene County. The 2011-12 Rams played as Jefferson-Scranton and that team went 13-10. This season’s Rams were 10-11 while the previous two seasons saw just six wins each, and the 2012-13 team won eight games.

Highlights of the 2015-16 season included a 9-7 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference record, good for a fourth place tie in the nine team league. The Rams were 2-6 in December and 3-8 in early January, then won seven of nine games to end the regular season including six in a row on the road. Greene County swept the two-game season series with PCM for one of the few times that’s ever happened. Also, the Rams won their last four regular season games and they were 3-0 this season in overtime contests, and the last two in OT were wins at Story City vs. Roland-Story and in Jefferson vs. PCM (Monroe) in the last week of the regular season. The other win was in double OT at Winterset in non-conference play.

The regular season ended with 10 wins and 10 losses, but a Class 3A district tournament first round loss to Carroll put the Rams one game below the .500 mark.
