The Perry Bluejay wrestling team is coming off another strong season that saw 3 Bluejays take their seat on the top 8 podium at the State Tournament. Head Coach Trevor Kittleson was honored by his peers a few weeks ago as the Central Iowa District Wrestling Coach of the Year.
“It was really a humbling experience when I found out,” added Kittleson. “It’s humbling to think that other coaches appreciate the work that we are doing here at Perry to make wrestling as strong as it possibly can be. I know there are coaches with better win loss records but I really appreciate that coaches are noticing what is going on here at Perry and that is what I am most proud about.”
Perry’s Gisaveri Niyibizi placed 3rd, Zach Thompson 6th and Kade Van Kirk 7th at this year’s tournament.
