The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.
During open forum, a concerned citizen asked the Council to clearly mark the handicapped parking spaces in front of the Greene County Community Center. City Administrator Mike Palmer said he is working with Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner to possibly use mobile parking signs for the designated spaces.
The Council then approved the second reading to amend the floodplain regulation ordinance, abating taxes for 18 improvement projects in 2015, create and advertise for an assistant golf course manager position, giving notice to proceed with the 2015 Grimmell Road lift station access improvement project, the City’s insurance policy for the next fiscal year and a five-year union contract for City employees.
The Council also heard an overview from Fire Chief Randy Love about their air pack equipment and the necessity to upgrade the equipment through two local grants.
The meeting ended in a quarterly workshop with Jefferson Matters: Main Street.
