Greene County finished the high school boys’ basketball season in Harlan on Monday night with a Class 3A District 1 opening round loss to Carroll High, 82-45. The Tigers improved to 8-14 while the Rams end at 10-11.

Carroll emptied the bench in the fourth quarter with a continuous clock and still made 31 of 55 shots from the field for 55%. The Tigers were 13 of 30 on three-pointers and seven of 11 from the free throw line. Carroll led 37-14 at halftime, then went 11 of 14 in the third quarter with six three-pointers and built the lead to 42 points. Kolby Molinsky had 23 points with 16 each from Dayton Ross and Tanner White. All of White’s points were in the third quarter.

The Rams were 15 of 51 shooting the ball including five of 25 in the first half. Greene County was four of 27 on three-point shots and 11 of 15 from the foul line. Trey Hinote had 11 points and Trey Tucker 10, with Max Neese at eight.

Neese, Sico Boateng, Reid Lamoureux, Tyler Beger, Mitchell Gorsuch, and Anthony Cunningham are the seniors on the team.
