The Greene County Democratic Party will hold their county convention next month.

Chair Dale Hanaman says all the delegates and the alternates that were selected from caucus night are invited to participate in the county convention. They will vote on the delegates that will represent their respective candidates from the county as well as the important platforms to the district convention on April 30th in Ames. Hanaman points out that they want to send as many alternates as possible to the district convention to fill spots left by other counties that didn’t have delegates show up.

“We are also electing people locally to represent our best wishes at the county level, and then electing people at the district level, be a process to elect people at the state level and be a process to elect people to be at the national level representing Iowa Democrats. So I think that’s really important.”

Registration will begin at 8:30am on Saturday, March 12th at the Jefferson City Hall Council Chambers. The public is invited to the event, although only delegates will be eligible to vote.
