Greene County and Carroll High meet in Class 1A District 1 boys’ basketball tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Harlan on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The winner moves on to the Feb. 25 district title game while the season ends for the losing team.
Coach Jeramie Hinote’s team has a 10-10 record and has won seven of its last nine games. Junior Trey Tucker is the leading scorer for the Rams at 19.7 points per contest. Greene County is playing away from home tonight, which may not be seen as a positive for some teams, but the Rams are 7-3 on the road with six wins in a row away from Jefferson.
Carroll is having a rare losing season at 7-14. The Tigers have a rich boys’ basketball tradition with numerous conference titles and State tournament appearances.
