There was certainly no shortage of excitement last Friday during the second round playoff match up between the Dallas Center-Grimes Lady Mustangs and the ADM Lady Tigers. Each and every fan was treated to thrilling postseason basketball action in a game that went down to the wire.

The game started with the Tigers down 14-7 heading into the second quarter but the Lady Tigers went toe to toe with DC-G, outscoring the Fillies in each of the remaining three quarters. The ADM defense stood strong as they have all year and held a potent Fillies offense to just 16 second half points while the ADM offense put up 21 points. There was only one lead change in the game which favored the Lady Tigers as with under 5 seconds left to go in the ball game ADM sped down the court to present Sydney Bertman with an open lane and the game winning layup.

Bertman was one of just three scorers on the night for the Tigers, both Bertman and senior Molly Jacobsen carried the Tiger offense scoring wise. Jacobsen led all Tiger scoring with 23 points on the contest in part thanks to 5 three point field goals while Bertman ended the night with 14 points, and in the ladder stages of the fourth quarter, Brianna Mueller scored her only bucket of the night to add two points on the contest.

Raccoon Valley Radio was able to catch up with girls head basketball coach Corey Schneider, as he gave his thoughts on ADM’s hard fought victory.

” I thought the girls played great. DC-G jumped out to a seven point lead early and we said we’ve just got to keep chipping away. I thought that was one of our best defensive performances of the year. You can’t do anything more than a chance to get to state and that’s where we’re at,” explained coach Schneider.

ADM will be back on the road Tuesday for their 3rd round match up with Lewis Central. Game tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm with pregame tip off scheduled for 6:45 pm on your home for all ADM postseason basketball action, K107.9FM and online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
