The Boone Toreadors hit 12 of their first 21 3-point baskets in in the first half alone Saturday night as the 13th ranked Toreadors defeated Perry 75-36 in a 4A Regional Semifinal. Perry’s Emma Olejniczak hit the game’s first basket giving Perry a brief 3-0 lead. Boone followed by scoring the next 31 points in building a 31-5 halftime lead. Boone expanded the lead to 57-15 at halftime before a continuous mercy clock went into effect. Sophomore Caitlyn Shadle led the way with 23 points while Dianna Slight added 18 first half points. Boone finished with 14 3-point baskets. The Toreadors swept the season series from Perry winning by comfortable double digit margins in each game. Taylor Lathrum scored 12 points to lead the Perry offense. The Jayettes close out the season with a record of 9-14 while Boone improves to 18-4 and will play Pella Tuesday night for the right to go to the state tournament.
