The Raccoon Valley Radio Network begins the last day of the Iowa State High School wrestlig tournament with play-by-play of the Class 1A and 2A place winners from the area. Among those are those in Saturday’s consolation semifinals, well as the matches for 7th, 5th, and 3rd place. Wrestling in the championship round tonight are Austin Lentz of Ogden at 182 pounds in 1A and Zach Johnston of ADMat 160 lbs. Lentz is 43-0 and rated number two and go against number one rated Daniel Bishop of Hinton, who is 46-1.Johnston makes his third trip in a row to the finals and is seeking his first title. The Tiger is 49-3 and meets Solon’s Trevoe Nelson in the finals.

Also in 1A, Ben Freese of Nodaway Valley will be going for seventh place 126 lbs. Guthrie Center’s Logan Scheuermann at 138 and Ogden’s Nick Ross at 195 will be in the 10 a.m. Consolation semifinals and they will finish anywhere from third through sixth place.

In 2A, seven wrestlers from the area have guaranteed themselves a top eight finish. That list includes Perry’s Kade Van Kirk at 132 who will wrestle for seventh place. Zach Thompson (120) and Gisavera Niyibizi (126) will be in the consolation semifinals and will place as high as third or as low as sixth, or in between. ADM has fthree others in the top six including Cole Bennett (182), Hunter Gibson (220), and Nathan Heath (285).
