20160218_091508_554The Guthrie County Supervisors met with the County Fair Board, Thursday morning.

Newly elected Fair Board President Grant Sheeder told the Supervisors he would like to start a new relationship between the two organizations and focus on working together more than they have in the past.

The County budgets $18,801 dollars each year for maintenance to the fairground facilities and $14,401 annually to support the 4-H program in paying for things including ribbons, judges, trophies, premiums and other miscellaneous expenses.

Sheeder told the Supervisors that the Fair Board is working on becoming more fiscally responsible and is moving away from past attitudes of wanting to simply break even financially. He added that a goal for the County Fair over the next several years is to add new attractions and work on marketing to individuals in their 20’s and 30’s.
