A West Central Valley High School senior is organizing a benefit to raise money in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
Mikayla Askren is spearheading the effort to organize a bake sale and other events to promote Alzheimer’s disease awareness during Friday night’s home basketball games.
Askren says she’s organizing the benefit because the disease has had a personal effect on her life. “I’ve been doing it in honor of my grandpa who had Alzheimer’s disease. He just passed away on November 30th, 2015.”
She’ll tell us more about the benefit today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
