With this year being a general election, many of our state senator and representative seats are up for election.
The District 47 Representative seat is one of those and incumbent Chip Baltimore is running for the seat. The Republican from Boone is seeking his fourth two-year term as a representative. He was first elected back in 2010 and recounts why he wanted to run for public office at that time.
“After looking at the different opportunities that were around and trying to simply provide some skills or abilities that I thought would be helpful in terms of governing the state of Iowa.”
He has an attorney background and working in the legal profession and in the banking industry for the last ten years.
He has two daughters, one in college and one in high school.
Deadline to submit nomination forms is by March 18th at 5pm to the Secretary of State’s office in Des Moines.
