The high school wrestling dual meet season comes to an end tonight in Huxley for the Greene County Rams. Coach Mark Sawhill’s team faces Ballard, Humboldt, and Perry starting at 5:30 p.m. A lack of participants has been a major factor in the Rams not winning any dual meets and that is likely to be the case again tonight as the Bombers, Wildcats, and Blue Jays all can come close to filling the 14 weight classes. The best the Rams have done so far this season is put seven wrestlers on the mat.

Greene County is led by senior Tommy Bradshaw at 152 lbs. The two-time State tournament qualifier is 28-0 this season and ranked number two in Class 2A by the Predicament. The closest match Bradshaw has had this season was a 3-1 victory over Kenton Brekke of Ballard in Eldora at the South Hardin tournament on Jan. 16, so a rematch tonight is a possibility.

The Rams will end the regular season this Saturday at the Guthrie Center tournament. They’ll enter the postseason on Sat., Feb. 6 in Perry at a Class 2A Sectional tournament.
