The West Central Valley Wildcats football team has been selected to move from Class 2A to Class 1A and their district pairings have been announced. Beginning next season, the Wildcats will appear in Class 1A District 6 along with Eagle Grove, Madrid, Manson-Northwest Webster, Ogden, Panorama, South Hamilton of Jewell and Van Meter.

Activities Director Tod Broman says Panorama, Ogden, Van Meter and Madrid are four very tough opponents. He adds that the team has never played Eagle Grove or South Hamilton before, although the Wildcat football team has previously tangled with Manson-Northwest Webster back in the 1990s.

Schedules are expected to be released in the near future.
