About $400,000 in improvements are planned to take place at Guthrie County Hospital.

Among them is an $80,000 infusion suite, which will provide a more suitable area for patients receiving chemotherapy and other treatments. Additionally, $60,000 will be used to remodel the emergency department, nearly $50,000 will go toward remodeling the front entry, $30,000 has been earmarked to make improvements to the business office and patient admittance area and an estimated $90,000 will be used in the creation of a negative-pressure isolation room which can prevent the spread of airborne illness. CEO Patrick Peters says the hospital may hold some fundraisers to help with expenses, although the majority of the cost is expected to be paid with the hospital’s own funds.
