Several Perry representatives spoke with a local U.S. Congressman this week about public safety experiences and concerns.

City Administrator Sven Peterson, Police Chief Eric Vaughn and other officers, along with Communications Supervisor Lori Riley and Fire Chief Chris Hinds met with Congressman David Young Monday.

Peterson says they discussed several topics and struggles local departments have in terms of budgets and manpower.

“It was a pretty good conversation, I think we made a pretty good connection with him and hopefully we’ll be able to be working with him and get a little more grant funding through some public safety grants.”
