Greene County opened the home portion of the wrestling season on Thursday night and lost two Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meets in the middle school gym in Jefferson. Roland-Story (Story City) won 51-29 over Greene County, then North Polk (Alleman) edged the Rams by a 36-33 final. R-S was a 60-9 victory over NP. The Rams fell to 0-17 in dual meets even though Greene County won four of six matches actually wrestled vs. R-S and then won five of six vs. NP.

Five Rams were 2-0 on the night. Kane Borgeson (113) won by forfeit twice; Isaiah Yoder (160), and Hunter Ruth (195) each won by fall twice. Tommy Bradshaw (152) won by technical fall and fall. Mark Kendall (170) won by fall and by a 12-6 decision. Isaac Ireland (138) lost 10-7 decision and won by fall. Cayden Gerdes (132) lost by fall twice.

The Rams close the home schedule on Jan. 19 vs. Guthrie Center and South Central Calhoun (Lake City).

Greene County sends its varsity to Eldora for the South Hardin tournament Saturday, while Greene County hosts its annual JV tournament tomorrow.
