The Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson invites everyone to their free movie classics week.
From January 15th through the 21st, the nonprofit movie theater will be showing five classic movies on the big screen for free.
Showtimes for Doctor Zhivago will be at 6pm tonight and at 1 and 6pm tomorrow. A John Wayne double feature will be on Sunday, which includes The Searchers at 1 and 3:30pm and The Green Berets at 6pm. Back to the Future will be on the big screen at 2 and 6pm on Monday and at 6pm on Tuesday. The week finishes up with Mrs. Doubtfire on Wednesday at 2 and 6pm and Thursday at 6pm.
Greene County Chamber Tourism and Events Coordinator Angie Pedersen hopes everyone takes advantage of the free opportunity and supports a great local asset.
“Think about all those people coming to town. Then maybe (they’ll) run uptown and grab something to eat or check out the storefronts uptown. We greatly appreciate the theater’s efforts. Oh how lucky are we that we’ve got them. They put in a lot of hours, so that that’s available to us and a lot of small towns don’t have that.”
The concession stand will be open for patrons to purchase refreshments.
