As we’ve reported, a Bayard convenience store was burglarized last weekend. The store has been robbed several times before and Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright says it’s likely due to the city’s close proximity to a major highway. “The store’s on Highway 141, which is a busy highway. It gets a lot of traffic from Des Moines and Omaha, through Carroll and to Perry. It’s got a lot of traffic on it, so there’s opportunities for something to happen. For this reason, we try to patrol the Bayard area more and stay in the area as much as we can. The Iowa State Patrol also patrols that area.”
We’ll hear more about crime and other law enforcement updates from Arganbright today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
