The Greene County E-911 Service Board met Tuesday.
The Board reviewed 2015 projects. The new 911 Internet Protocol system was implemented last year, along with the new administrative phone system. Dispatch now has two handsets for communication. The Board is continuing to pay for dedicated 911 phone lines for Jefferson, Churdan, Scranton, Grand Junction and Rippey. Some of the doors on the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) still need to be replaced for security reasons and a new heat pump was installed in the communication center for $3,700.
The Board then approved the option to pay recurring bills through Automatic Clearing House (ACH), installing a heat pump in the equipment room of the LEC and paying about $2,000 for IAM Responding coverage for the entire county for emergency and law enforcement officials. The Board also approved installing communication devices in seven law enforcement vehicles and one Jefferson Fire Department vehicle to allow portable communication devices to carry their signal back to the LEC from any location in the county.
The Board set January 26th at 9am at the LEC for a public hearing on the 2017 fiscal year budget.
Bi-annual officers were also appointed. Dennis Morlan will continue to serve as chair, Mark Clouse will be the new vice-chair, Doug Hawn and Steve Haupert will continue to serve as treasurer and secretary respectively.
The 911 Service Board is responsible for setting up the 911 system equipment and paying fees to the dedicated 911 phone lines.
