Paton-Churdan School is carrying on a holiday tradition with their Adopt-A-Family program.
Principal Annie Smith says the National Honor Society students lead the project, along with their partner with John Deere in Paton. In the past, students would select specific families and individuals that were in need during the holiday season, but Smith points out what they are doing different this year.
“This year we’ve decided to try to spread the wealth even more and doing ‘Holiday Baskets of Love.’ We’re actually putting together as many baskets that we can that will include just things that families need at this time.”
Some of the items include food, toiletry and paper products, along with games and other family-oriented activities.
Smith adds that she’s continually impressed by the community support with donations for their Adopt-A-Family.
The students were able to distribute to families in the Paton and Churdan area before winter break.
