Jefferson Matters: Main Street is partnering with some students from Iowa State University in an effort to collaborate on several projects.
Program Director Peg Raney says former Scranton resident Lisa Bates is the instructor with the Retail Scapes Studio at ISU, which consists of aspiring students in architecture; landscape, interior and graphic design and community and regional planning. She says there are several projects, but there’s one that they would like to focus on.
“Some of those might be a new brand for our community. We’ve been talking about banners and welcome signs and different kinds of things that we would like to bring people into our community from all places.”
The students will meet four times, with the first meeting on January 27th, with community members to get their visions for the City of Jefferson. The final recommendations will be made on April 25th.
Anyone who would like to get involved can contact the Jefferson Matters office at 386-3585 for more information.
