The process of picking a college can be challenging for high school seniors, and for an athlete dealing with the recruiting process, it can be even more difficult. Regardless of the level at which the college or university participates, coaches understand that recruiting is the lifeblood of every collegiate program. Recently, Raccoon Valley Radio caught up with Perry head basketball coach Ned Menke, who shed some light on what the process entails from the perspective of the high school coach.
“They really ask us a lot of different questions. I’ve talked to NAIA schools all the way to Division 1 schools, they’re always interesting in how they do on the court, and just how they are as kids, and that type of thing. It’s fun to be a part of that and get to speak with coaches out there.”
The Perry High School Gym has received numerous visits from college coaches inquiring about Perry senior Shammond Ivory, who is currently undecided on a future school.
