Volunteers are still needed to help set up for and serve at the Perry Community Christmas Dinner this week.

Christmas Eve, volunteers will help peel and chop 150 pounds of potatoes, set up tables and roll silverware.  Then on Friday, people are needed to help set up, serve the meal and clean up.

Organizer Deb Miller says it’s a gratifying tradition to be part of.

“It’s just a good feeling to know that we fed (hundreds of people) and you’ve given your time for Christmas.  I mean that’s kind of why I’ve always enjoyed it.  You know, we didn’t need to sit at home all Christmas day and eat, we could volunteer and do something productive.”

Anyone who is able to help can stop by the Elks Lodge at 10am Thursday or call Miller at 465-3740.
