The Perry Jayette basketball team will head to Christmas break on a high note after defeating Des Moines Hoover 54-26 in Perry on Monday night. Similar to Friday, Perry took control of the game in the first quarter, jumping out to 16-3 lead and would never look back. Grace Marburger scored 20 points in the first half, connecting on 6 3-pointers. Marburger would finish the game with a season-high 28 points, 24 of which came from 3-point land. Hoover was led by senior Karmisha Miller, who scored a team-high 9 points.
Perry improves to 4-5 (1-2) and will come back from Christmas break seeking their fourth straight win, as they play host to ADM in a doubleheader. Hoover falls to 0-10 and will travel to Indianola when they return from break.
